Back in January, we shot the video for The Kid Daytona + Tiara Wiles’ record “The Minimum” and then briefly slid through Donnis’ shoot before hitting a meeting. This is some behind the scenes footage and Donnis takes some time to thank Peter and Hot 97. FYI, the video for “The Minimum” and “Gone” are on the way.

Leaders of the New Cool: NYC was already shaping up to be an awesome night, with the addition of Harlem native and Howard University product Esso, it’s become a little more likely. I’ve known dude for a minute, humble and hardworking, Esso is definitely a Leader in his own right. Learn more about Esso at www.theessoexperience.com and get your tickets here –> tinyurl.com/lotncnyc

Last month, the LA installment of my music showcase “Leaders of the New Cool” went down at the Echoplex. There were a crazy number of cameras in the building and it seems some of the footage floated over to Nation at NahRight.com who posted some dope footage of Mikkey Halstead bringing Freddie Gibbs out to perform. Click here or the image above to view. And don’t forget, Leaders of the New Cool: NYC is 2.24.10, tickets available at tinyurl.com/lotncnyc.

Listen: Mikkey Halsted - Hold On feat. Khari Lemuel and Ari
This is a bonus cut off DJBooth.net’s Rhymes & Rhythm for Relief compilation project available here. Oh yeah, did I mention Mikkey is rocking at Leaders of the New Cool on 2/24/10 in NYC? A million times you say? How about a million and one, lol.

For those paying attention, you know I’ve been working with Harlem native Chenzira for a while now. We’re getting scarily close to finishing his debut release “Born On The Road” (the literal meaning of his name). So to warm it up, I had him jump on Chase N. Cash’s “Blow Your Head Up” off of his LovEND instrumental album. Hope you enjoy, download here or click the image above.

In response to the tragedy in Haiti, I teamed up with some of my fellow Howard Law School grads to create www.humanityforhaiti.org. On Thursday, January 28, 2010 please join us along side Assorted Flavors, Dominique and Romulus Law, LLP, The National Bar Association, The Metropolitan Black Bar Association and The Howard University Alumni Association to raise funds to donate to UNICEF to assist in their Haiti relief efforts.
In addition to an open bar courtesy of Grey Goose, Senator John Sampson and Assemblyman Nick Perry will share brief remarks.
